Gold mining company AzerGold and Star Mining LLC signed a contract worth over 78 million manat ($45.8 million), Trend reports referring to the Electronic Procurement portal.
According to the data, the winner of the tender announced by AzerGold has been determined for opening, mining, and transporting ore at the Chovdar ore processing area and for crushing rocks from the Chovdar deposit and from the Agyokhush and Merekh sites.
"By the decision of the tender commission, Star Mining LLC was selected as the winner of the tender announced by AzerGold. A contract worth over 78 million manat was signed with the company," the portal says.
Meanwhile, in accordance with the Order of the President of Azerbaijan dated August 6, 2020, AzerGold CJSC, within the framework of the preparation of the primary assessment document for the re-commissioning of the Dashkesan iron ore deposit, has begun geophysical research and geological exploration. The deposit with reserves in the amount of 350 million tons of ore was continuously exploited from 1954 to 1994, during which 92 million tons of minerals were extracted.
