Russia’s Perm Krai has a potentially interesting developed production of mineral fertilizers and oilfield service equipment for Turkmenistan, said Governor of the region Dmitry Makhonin during his meeting with Consul-General of Turkmenistan to Russia’s Kazan Atadurdy Bayramov, Ministry of Economic Development of Perm Krai told Trend, revealing the details of their meeting.

Exports of goods from Russia’s Perm Krai to Turkmenistan increased by 77 percent, compared to the same period in 2019, noted the ministry. The basis of trade turnover is petrochemical products, metal products and lumber – almost 90 percent is accounted for by non-primary non-energy exports.

Turkmenistan has offered to establish a cooperation with Perm Krai.

"Given the current situation, meetings can be held online at the first stage. I am sure that they will be an impetus for the implementation of specific projects," the consul general said.

The governor noted that the trade and economic relations between Russia’s Perm Krai and Turkmenistan have good potential.

"I will set the task to prepare an agreement on socio-economic cooperation in the near future, which would consolidate the opportunities to increase trade between our parties and cooperation in the cultural and humanitarian areas," Makhonin concluded.
