The value of Iran’s exports to Arab countries amounted to about $5.35 billion during the first six months of the current Iranian year (March 20-September 21, 2020), Director General of Trade Promotion Organization of Iran’s (TPOI) Arabic-African Affairs Office Farzad Piltan told ILNA, Trend reports.
The director-general emphasized that Iran exported $2.97 billion worth of goods to Iraq and $1.93 billion worth to the United Arabian Emirates during the reporting period.
He added that at the same time, Iran exported $165 million worth of goods to Oman, $73 million worth to Kuwait, and $62 million worth to Qatar.
“Furthermore, Iran imported about $4.23 billion worth of goods from Arab countries over 6 months,” Piltan noted.
According to the director-general, Iran imported $3.96 billion worth of goods from the UAE and $200 million worth from Oman within this period.
Piltan said that Iran also imported $43 million worth of goods from Iraq, $3 million worth from Kuwait, and $2.4 million worth from Qatar.
In total, Iran exported 46.3 million tons of products (excluding crude oil and white oil) worth $13.5 billion during the first 6 months of the current Iranian year.
Over this period, Iran imported a total of 16.5 million tons of products worth about $16.8 billion.
