Azerbaijan reveals data on imports for 9M2020

BAKU, Azerbaijan, Oct. 22

Azerbaijan’s imports totaled over $7.82 billion from January through September 2020, which is 24.2 percent less compared to the same period of 2019, Trend reports citing a report of the State Customs Committee (SCC) of Azerbaijan.

The share of the public sector in imports over the reporting period amounted to $1.33 billion, which is about 17.05 percent of the total import. Private sector’s share amounted to $5.76 billion, or 73.74 percent of the total.

The share of individuals accounted for the remaining $720.1 million or 9.21 percent.

In total, Azerbaijan exported 2,722 and imported 7,235 units of goods, conducting foreign trade operations with 178 partner countries.

During the reporting period, most of the products imported by Azerbaijan are the following: machinery, power tools, equipment and its spare parts, land vehicles, except for railway and tram vehicles, as well as their parts and accessories, ferrous metal and its products.
