Azerbaijan-Malaysia export operations notably up year on year

The volume of foreign trade operations between Azerbaijan and Malaysia in the past 9 months of 2020 made up $107.2 million, surging by 2.4 times or $62.9 million year on year, Trend reports citing the statistical bulletin of the State Customs Committee (SCC) of Azerbaijan.

According to the bulletin, during the reporting period, the value of imports from Malaysia to Azerbaijan grew from $43.8 million to $46.6 million years on year, and the share of Malaysia in the total import of Azerbaijan made up 0.6 percent of the total volume against 0.42 percent in the same period of 2019.

Meanwhile, the value of the export of Azerbaijani products to Malaysia amounted to $60.5 million, while a year earlier this figure was $441,000. As a result, the country’s share in Azerbaijan’s total export made up 0.57 percent.

Thus, the balance of foreign trade turnover between the two countries for the reporting period became positive, equating to $13.8 million.

From January through September 2020, the foreign trade turnover of Azerbaijan made up $18.4 billion, which is 27.1 percent less compared to the same period of 2019.
