Iran unveils details of its exports from Zanjan Province

BAKU, Azerbaijan, Nov. 11

A total of $126 million worth of goods were exported from the Zanjan Province (western Iran) during the first seven months of the current Iranian year (from March 20 through October 21, 2020), the Director-General of Zanjan Province Customs Office, Mirhashem Ahmadi said, Trend reports citing IRNA.

The director-general emphasized that the exported goods increased by 11 percent in terms of value compared to the same period last Iranian year.

He added that the main exported product from the province was zinc ingot. Thus, zinc ingot accounted for 72 percent ie $92 million of the province total exports.

Ahmadi said that 12 percent of the province exports have been accounted for various transformers.

According to the director-general, the value of each ton of goods exported from the province over 7 months was about $1,700.

“However, the average value of each ton of goods exported from Iran is $288. This shows that the value of Zanjan Province exports for 1 ton is more than 6 times compared to Iran,” he noted.

Ahmadi stressed that about $152 million worth of goods were imported to Zanjan Province over the past seven months. The value imports decreased by 24 percent compared to the same period last Iranian year.

The director-general noted more than 95 percent of imported goods have been accounted for the raw materials of manufacturing and industrial enterprises.
