Azerbaijan exported 253,392 tons of fruits and vegetables (worth over $158.8 million) from January through October 2020, which is 0.8 percent less than in the same period of 2019, Trend reports referring to the statistical bulletin of the Azerbaijani State Customs Committee.
According to the committee, in monetary terms the export of fruits and vegetables rose by 2.5 percent year on year.
“Over the past 10 months, 275,650 tons of fruits and vegetables worth over $158.8 million were imported by Azerbaijan, which is 3.7 percent more than in the same period of last year,” the committee said.
During the reporting period, the foreign trade turnover of Azerbaijan made up $21 billion, which is 25.7 percent less compared to the same period of 2019.
In the structure of foreign trade turnover, exports accounted for $12.2 billion. The volume of exports declined by 27.3 percent on an annual basis. The share of exports decreased by 1.24 percentage points over the year, to 58.25 percent of the total foreign trade turnover.
Imports to Azerbaijan amounted to $8.77 billion in the first ten months of 2020, having decreased by 23.5 percent compared to the same period of 2019. The share of imports in the total trade turnover increased by 1.24 percentage points, up to 41.75 percent of the total volume.
