Kazakhstan's gold processing company starts operations at one more deposit

Kazakhstan's AK Altynalmas JSC has started open-pit mining at the Aksu deposit in the country's Akmola region, Trend reports citing the company.

The deposit consists of six ore areas: Zapadnyi, Tsentralnyi, Staratelskyi, Oktyabrskyi I, Oktyabrskyi II, and Budennovskyi.

By the efforts of the company, open-pit mining started at the Oktyabrskaya II area of ​​the Aksu deposit. The open-pit design capacity is 5 million tons of ore and 36 million tons of rock mass per year. It is expected that by the end of 2020 ore production will be 260,000 tons, and already in 2021, it is planned to reach the planned production capacity of 5 million tons of ore per year.

Mineral resources will be processed at its own gold recovery plant, the completion of which is scheduled for the 2Q2021. The modern equipment is used for open pit mining: HITACHI 1900/2600 excavators, СAT 777E dump trucks, CAT loaders, and bulldozers.

Currently, 95 employees are engaged in the Aksu project. When the project reaches its full production capacity, it is planned to create additional 659 jobs with a total staffing of 754 people.

AK Altynalmas JSC is a company with a complete geological, mining, and gold processing cycle. The company has assets in four regions of Kazakhstan: Aktogai project in Aktogai district of Karaganda region, Akbakai project in Moyinkum district of Zhambyl region, Mizek deposit in East Kazakhstan region, Aksu project, and JSC “MMC KAZAKHALTYN” facilities in Akmola region.
