Georgia reveals volume of exported apples

BAKU, Azerbaijan, Nov. 24

Some 5,045 tons of apples worth $2.2 million were exported from Georgia. from August 1 to November 23, 2020, Trend reports via the Ministry of Environment Protection and Agriculture.

The export volume of apples for this period is 12 times higher than the export volume for the same period of 2019, and the export value increased by $1.9 million.

The export of Georgian apples this year was mainly carried out to the Russian Federation (46,884 tons).

In addition to the Russian Federation, exports were also carried out to Kazakhstan, Singapore, and Hong Kong.

This year, Georgian farmers have earned over 9 million lari ($2.7 million) from the sale of non-standard apples.
