Georgian Poti Free Industrial Zone (FIZ) certainly retains its advantages especially for trading companies due to its unique and strategic geographical location, the Poti FIZ told Trend.
"Consequently, the majority of new companies registered in 2020 represent trading companies," the FIZ said.
As the source noted, in terms of distribution by sectors it is quite diversified, trading in food products, as well as construction materials, furniture, pharmaceuticals, cotton and other agricultural products are intensively conducted.
"The investments were made in the food sector – Nuts processing factory, which is already operating at full capacity," the FIZ noted.
The textile sector in Georgia is not losing its relevance, which is evidenced by opening of a new garment factory in Poti FIZ, said the source.
"However, new sectors such as the production of high-tech electrical devices as well as the production of automotive components are noteworthy. The opening of the said factories are planned in 2021," said the source.
