Value of Iran's trade turnover with Syria announced

The value of Iran's trade turnover with Syria amounted to about $83 million during the first seven months of the current Iranian year (from March 20 through October 21, 2020), Director General of Trade Promotion Organization of Iran’s (TPOI) Arabic-African Affairs Office Farzad Piltan said, Trend reports citing the organization website.

Piltan emphasized that thus, Iran exported $73 million worth of goods to Syria while imported $10 million worth of goods from Syria.

The director general added that the value of Iran's trade turnover with Syria amounted to $170 million in the last Iranian year (from March 21, 2019 to March 20, 2020). Of this, $160 million was exports and $10 million was imports.

“The exported goods were mainly spare parts for cars, medicines, iron and steel shafts, pipes, profiles, spare parts for gas turbines, pistachios, water taps and so on,” he said.

While the imported goods from Syria were mainly phosphate, olive oil, plant, fruits and fabrics, according to Piltan.
