Kazakhstan records notable growth in machine-building sector over 11M2020

A positive trend continued in the processing industry of Kazakhstan in the past 11 months of 2020, Trend reports referring to the press service of the government of Kazakhstan.

Almost all sectors of the industry have shown growth. The machine-building industry’s indicators steadily increased by 116.4 percent which was due to the production of vehicles, trailers, and semi-trailers, other vehicles, electrical equipment, machinery, and equipment. Positive dynamics have been also observed in non-ferrous metallurgy which rose by 102.2 percent.

"The volumes of refined gold, gold in bars, silver in granules, Dore alloy, primary aluminum, and others have been increased. In ferrous metallurgy, the growth was recorded at the level of 100.4 percent," said Minister of Industry and Infrastructural Development Beybut Atamkulov. "The volume of production of reinforcing bars, ferrosilicon manganese, the commercial output of rebar, balls, and round timber has increased. The pharmaceutical industry maintains a high production volume at 139.5 percent, fully covering the needs of the domestic market for essential goods."

The light industry increased by 15.5 percent due to a growth in the production of textiles, clothing, and leather goods. The production volume of paper and respective products rose by 14.6 percent, while in the production of wood and cork products, an increase of 47.3 percent was provided.

"The volume index for transport from January through November 2020 amounted to 82.9 percent. Despite the decrease in shipments in the traditional segments, we managed to achieve a positive trend in the transit traffic of container cargo. Some 799,700 TEU were transited, which is a growth of 136 percent compared to the same period of last year," stressed the minister.
