Sales of goods at Iran Mercantile Exchange soar

BAKU, Azerbaijan, Dec. 22

A total of 2.7 million tons of goods worth 316 trillion rials (about $7.52 billion) were sold at Iran Mercantile Exchange (IME) during the 9th month of the current Iranian year (November 21 through December 20, 2020), Trend reports citing IME’s official portal.

This is an increase of 57 percent in terms of value and 42 percent in terms of volume compared to the 8th month of the current Iranian year (October 21 through November 20, 2020).

According to the statistics, 1.56 million tons of various oil and petrochemical products worth 148 trillion rials (about $3.53 billion) were sold in the oil and petrochemical products section of the IME in the 9th month.

“About 468,000 tons of bitumen, 245,000 tons of various polymeric substances, 128,000 tons of chemicals, 2,000 tons of slaps wax, and 530,000 tons of vacuum bottom, 2,280 glass facades, 9,350 tons of base oil, 28,700 tons of sulfur, 600 tons of argon, 144,000 tons lube cut products were sold in this section,” the statistics said.

According to the statistics, 1.18 million tons of products worth 167 trillion rials (about $3.98 billion) were sold in the industrial and mining products section of the IME over the reporting month.

“Moreover, 1.14 million tons of steel products, 18,700 tons of copper products, 57 tons of precious metal concentrate, 600 tons of molybdenum concentrate, 1,420 tons of aluminum, 1,500 tons of coke 3,340 tons of zinc ingots, 700 tons of cast Iron and 29 kilograms of gold bars were sold in this section within 9th month,” the statistics said.

At the same time, 3,340 tons of various products were sold in the sub-market section of the exchange in 9th month, the statistics said.

According to the statistics, 320 kg of saffron were sold in the agricultural products section of the Iran Mercantile Exchange.
