Iran's exports decline

BAKU, Azerbaijan, Dec. 23

Iran's exports decreased by 20 percent in terms of value and 17 percent in terms of volume during the first 9 months of the current Iranian year (March 20 through December 20, 2020), Director General of Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration (IRICA), Mehdi Mirashrafi said, Trend reports citing IRICA.

According to Mirashrafi, Iran exported 85.2 million tons of goods worth $25 billion over the reporting period.

“Iran exported 20.6 million tons of goods worth $6.4 billion to China and 20.8 million tons worth $5.9 billion to Iraq within nine months,” he added.

The director general said that at the same time, Iran exported 11.4 million tons of goods worth $3.3 billion to the UAE, 5.4 million tons worth $1.8 billion to Turkey and 5.2 million tons worth $1.7 billion to Afghanistan.

Mirashrafi stressed that Iran's foreign trade turnover amounted to 110 million tons worth $52 billion in the first nine months.
