Exports and imports via western ports of Iran's Hormozgan Province grow

BAKU, Azerbaijan, Jan. 11

The volume of exports through the western port of Hormozgan Province (Bandar Lengeh, Chark, Aftab and several small ports) increased by 51 percent and the imports - by 66 percent during the first nine months of the current Iranian year (March 20 through December 20, 2020), compared to the same period last Iranian year, Director of Ports and Maritime office of Bandar Lengeh port, Ghasem Askari Nasab said, Trend reports citing Iranian Ports and Maritime Organization.

The director noted that a total of more than 3.6 million tons of goods were loaded and unloaded in the western ports of the province over the reporting period.

Askari Nasab added that 1.81 million tons of cargo loaded and unloaded in these ports were non-oil products, and the rest were oil products.

"More than 14,000 ships docked in these ports in 9 months. In addition, more than 64,000 cars were transited through these ports," he said.

The director also said that 896 passengers entered Iran from the United Arab Emirates through these ports within 9 months.
