Details of agricultural products exported to Iraq via Iran's Mehran customs announced

As many as 93,000 tons of agricultural products worth 43.1 million were exported to Iraq through the Mehran customs checkpoint in the Ilam Province (western Iran) during the first nine months of the current Iranian year (March 20 through December 20, 2020), Director General of Ilam Province Customs Office Rouhollah Gholami told IRNA, Trend reports.

The director general emphasized that a total of 651,000 tons of goods worth $344 million were exported to Iraq through Mehran customs checkpoint over the reporting period.

“The exported goods were mainly construction materials, fruits and vegetables, rubber products, industrial products, household appliances and metal products,” he added.

Gholami noted that 2.08 million tons of goods worth $1.18 billion were exported to Iraq through Iran's Mehran customs checkpoint in the last Iranian year (from March 21, 2019 to March 20, 2020).

The director also said that due to the coronavirus pandemic, Iranian products are currently being loaded on Iraqi trucks at the Mehran customs checkpoint and exported to Iraq.
