By Elnur Baghishov – Trend:
The first loading and unloading equipment worth $8.5 million have entered the Chabahar port in the Sistan and Baluchestan Province (southeastern Iran), said Behrouz Aghaei, the Director-General of Ports and Maritime Organization of Iran’s (PMO) branch in Sistan and Baluchestan Province, Trend reports referring to the PMO’s website.
The director-general noted that the equipment was delivered based on an agreement between the Iranian Ports and Maritime Organization and a relevant Indian company in a direction to equip Chabahar port and increase the operation of the port.
Aghaei added that the equipment was delivered within $85 million worth of investments by Indian Ports Global Ltd (IPGL) in the Chabahar port.
“The Indian company fulfills its obligations under a long-term contract,” he said.
Aghaei also stressed that Iran's Chabahar port is the first port to be supplied with foreign investments by 100 percent.
