Iran's trade turnover with India shrinks

Iran's trade turnover with India decreased by 36 percent during the first nine months of the current Iranian year (March 20 through December 20, 2020), compared to the same period last Iranian year, Trend reports citing the statistics of the Trade Promotion Organization of Iran (TPOI).

According to the statistics, the trade turnover between Iran and India amounted to 6.45 million tons worth about $2.43 billion, within 9 months.

“Iran exported 4.66 million tons of goods worth about $768 million to India over the reporting period. The exports decreased by 31 percent compared to the same period last Iranian year,” the statistics said.

Furthermore, Iran imported 1.8 million tons of goods worth $1.66 billion from India during 9 months. The imports decreased by 38 percent compared to the same period last Iranian year, the statistics said.

In general, Iran exported 85.2 million tons of goods worth $25 billion in the first 9 months of the current Iranian year. Moreover, Iran imported 25 million tons of goods worth $26.8 billion during the reporting period.
