Exports from Iran's Sistan and Baluchestan Province to Afghanistan grow

The exports from the Sistan and Baluchestan Province (southeastern Iran) to Afghanistan increased by 11 percent in terms of value during the first 9 months of the current Iranian year (March 20 through December 20, 2020), compared to the same period last Iranian year, the Chairman of Industry, Mine and Trade Organization of Sistan and Baluchestan Province, Davoud Shahraki said, Trend reports referring to the organization.

According to him, about $391 million worth of goods were exported from Sistan and Baluchestan Province exported to Afghanistan over the reporting period.

The chairman added that the province's own goods worth $301 million were exported through the customs of Sistan and Baluchestan Province within the nine months. At the same time, about $90 million worth of goods were exported to Afghanistan through the province's border markets.

“The exported goods were mainly apples, construction materials, gas, sulfur, dates, and ceramics,” Shahraki said.

As reported, Iran exported $1.7 billion worth of goods to Afghanistan in the first 9 months of the current Iranian year.
