A total of 2.96 million tons of goods worth 396 trillion rials (about $9.43 billion) were sold at Iran Mercantile Exchange (IME) during the 11th month of the current Iranian year (January 20 through February 18, 2020), Trend reports citing IME’s official portal.
This is an increase of 16 percent in terms of value and 2 percent in terms of volume compared to the 10th month of the current Iranian year (December 21 through January 21, 2020).
According to the statistics, 1.59 million tons of various oil and petrochemical products worth 180 trillion rials (about $4.29 billion) were sold in the oil and petrochemical products section of the IME in the 11th month.
"About 494,000 tons of bitumen, 331,000 tons of various polymeric substances, 152,000 tons of chemicals, 13,300 tons of base oil, 423,000 tons of vacuum bottom, 18,700 tons of sulfur, 200 tons of argon, 250 tons of facades and 159,000 tons lube cut products were sold in this section," the statistics said.
According to the statistics, 1.35 million tons of products worth 214 trillion rials (about $5.09 billion) were sold in the industrial and mining products section of the IME over the reporting month.
"Moreover, 1.24 million tons of steel products, 26,000 tons of copper products, 54 tons of precious metal concentrate, 510 tons of molybdenum concentrate, 24,500 tons of aluminum, 500 tons of coke, 18,100 tons of zinc ingots, 50,000 tons of iron ore concentrate, 100 tons of cast iron, 50 tons of lead and 65 kilograms of gold bars were sold in this section within 11th month," the statistics said.
At the same time, 21,600 tons of various products worth 2.02 trillion rials (about $48.2 million) were sold in the sub-market section of the exchange in the 11th month, the statistics said.
