Several countries purchase Turkmen products on country's exchange

BAKU, Azerbaijan, February 22

Entrepreneurs from Russia, the UAE, and Afghanistan produced Turkmenistan’s Turkmenbashi Complex of Oil Refineries, as well as diesel fuel from the Seydi Oil Refineries in foreign currency on the State Commodity Exchange of Turkmenistan during the last week, Trend reports with reference to Turkmenistan’s State News Agency.

In addition, businessmen from the UAE, Scotland, Afghanistan, and Singapore purchased ESO-93 gasoline, liquefied gas, and technical sulfur in foreign currency on Turkmenistan’s exchange. Also, Russia, China, Azerbaijan, and Kyrgyzstan bought smooth-colored and jacquard terry products, cotton yarn in foreign currency.

The total amount of transactions on the exchange in foreign currency exceeded $110.7 million.

Transactions in Turkmen manat were also made on Turkmenistan's exchange. Thus, entrepreneurs from the UAE, Turkey, and Pakistan purchased cotton yarn, licorice root extract, and other medical supplies for a total amount of more than 65.8 million Turkmen manat ($18.8 million).

For the domestic market, domestic businessmen purchased co-extrusion polypropylene film (worth more than 16 million manat ($4.6 million).

In total, 66 transactions were registered on the exchange over the past week.

The State Commodity and Raw Materials Exchange of Turkmenistan was established on July 29, 1994. It is the most important agency of state regulation of export-import operations.
