Iran's export to Spain declines

BAKU, Azerbaijan, Feb.26

Trend:

Iran's export to Spain is very little that is mainly due to financial transaction problems that limited the trade, said board member of Iran and Spain Joint Chamber of Commerce Asghar Ahani, Trend reports citing ILNA.

"Most transactions are done via currency exchange offices," he said.

"Trade between Iran and Spain and other European countries is being done on a low level due to banking issues and money transfers, buying and selling is done indirectly and via currency exchange offices," Ahani said.

"The money transfers between Iran and other countries, especially in Europe, is not in a good state due to sanctions, so our trades are mostly with neighboring countries," he said.

As for Iran's trade with Spain, Ahadi said the transfer is mostly done by using Iran's blocked money in other countries.

"Iran's blocked money in Spain is very little. We can't have direct money transfers, so we're using indirect ways," Ahadi explained.
