Hungarian Globalia Kft to support solar park creation in Kazakhstan

Hungarian Globalia Kft company will support construction of a solar power plant in Kazakhstan’s Turkestan region, Trend reports citing the KAZAKH INVEST National Company.

The corresponding trilateral memorandum was signed between KAZAKH INVEST, akimat (administrative center) of Turkestan region and the Globalia Kft company.

The document says that foreign investors plan to build a solar park with a capacity of 50 MW. The project provides for an installation of more than 160,000 monocrystalline solar modules.

The preliminary agreements say that the construction of the solar power plant will be launched at the beginning of 2022. The implementation of the project will create about 150 jobs. The amount of planned investments is being specified.

With support of KAZAKH INVEST, 15 projects are being implemented in the renewable energy sector for a total of $930 million at the moment. As part of these projects, it is planned to create solar parks, hydro and wind power plants with a total capacity of 676 MW.

National Company KAZAKH INVEST JSC was established in order to promote sustainable socio-economic development of Kazakhstan by attracting foreign investment in priority sectors of the economy and comprehensive support of investment projects.
