Azerbaijan's foreign trade balance with Israel remains positive in Jan. 2021

BAKU, Azerbaijan, March 3

As of January 2021, import of products from Israel to Azerbaijan on an annualized basis decreased from $1.09 million to $945,500 (a decline of 13.2 percent), Trend reports on March 3 with reference to the statistical bulletin of the Azerbaijani State Customs Committee.

Israel's share in Azerbaijan's total import amounted to 0.12 percent of the total volume compared to 0.15 percent in January 2020.

During January 2021, the export of goods from Azerbaijan to Israel amounted to $31.3 million, while in January 2020 this figure was $181 million. Thus, Israel's share in the total export of Azerbaijan decreased from 8.49 percent to 1.93 percent.

The volume of foreign trade operations between the two countries for the reporting period is estimated at $32.3 million, which is 5.6 times less than in January 2020.

Thus, the trade balance of Azerbaijan with Israel in January 2021 remained positive, amounting to $30.4 million.

In general, Azerbaijan's foreign trade turnover in January 2021 amounted to over $2.4 billion. More than $1.6 billion (67.34 percent) of that volume accounted for export, the remaining $787.5 million or 32.66 percent - for import.
