Iran boosts car manufacturing

The manufacturing of various types of cars in Iran increased by 19 percent during the 11 months of the current Iranian year (March 20, 2020 through February 18, 2021), compared to the same period last Iranian year, Trend reports citing the statistics of the Ministry of Industry, Mine and Trade of Iran.

According to the statistics, a total of 910,000 cars in various types were manufactured in Iran over the 11 months. However, about 765,000 cars were manufactured in the same period last Iranian year.

“About 828,000 passenger cars were manufactured in 11 months. This accounted for about 91 percent of total manufacturing in Iran. The passenger car manufacturing increased by 18.5 percent compared to the same period last Iranian year,” the statistics said.

Furthermore, 74,600 pickups and 241 vans were manufactured in Iran during the reporting period. The manufacturing of pickups increased by 22.1 percent and the vans by 21.9 percent, compared to the same period last Iranian year, the statistics said.

According to the statistics, 731 minibuses were manufactured in Iran within 11 months, which is an increase of 1 percent compared to the same period last Iranian year. At the same time, 894 buses were manufactured in Iran. This is an increase of 93.5 percent compared to the same period of the last Iranian year.

“Moreover, 5,340 trucks were manufactured in Iran in 11 months, which is an increase of 79.6 percent compared to the same period last Iranian year,” the statistics said.

Iran manufactured 95,600 vehicles of various types in the 11th month of the current Iranian year (January 20 through February 18, 2021). This is an increase of 2.6 percent compared to the same month last Iranian year, the statistics said.
