The volume of exports from Azerbaijan to the US increased by 4.3 times in the first 2 months of 2021 compared to the same period of 2020, Trend reports citing a report of the State Customs Committee (SCC).
According to the committee, during the specified period, Azerbaijan’s exports to the US amounted to $13.2 million.
“At the same time, the value of Azerbaijan’s imports from the US from January through February 2021 amounted to $83.9 million, which is 1.7 times less compared to the same period of 2020. The US share in Azerbaijan's total imports amounted to 5.21 percent, decreasing by 8.7 percent year on year," the report reads.
The trade turnover between Azerbaijan and the US in the reporting period amounted to $97.2 million, which is 1.6 times less compared to the same period of last year.
The balance of foreign trade turnover decreased by 1.7 times on an annualized basis and remained negative, settling at $70.7 million.
Azerbaijan's foreign trade turnover in the first 2 months of this year totaled about $4.4 billion, has shown a decrease of 12.6 percent over the year.
