Kazakhstan increases trade turnover with Singapore amid COVID-19

The value of trade turnover between Kazakhstan and Singapore amounted to $5.5 million in January 2021, compared to $1.6 million during the same period of 2020, Trend reports with reference to Kazakhstan’s Statistics Committee.

The share of Singapore in the total value of Kazakhstan’s trade turnover stood at 0.09 percent during the reporting period, compared to 0.02 percent during the same period of 2020.

Kazakhstan’s export to Singapore amounted to $2.5 million in January 2021, compared to $13,585 during the same period of 2020.

Singapore’s share in the total volume of Kazakhstan’s export amounted to 0.07 percent during the reporting period of 2021, compared to less than 0.01 percent during the same period of 2020.

In turn, Kazakhstan’s imports from Singapore amounted to nearly $3.03 million over the reporting period, compared to $1.5 million during the same period of 2020.

Singapore’s share in the total volume of Kazakhstan’s imports amounted to 0.12 percent during the reporting period of 2021, compared to 0.06 percent during the same period of 2020.

The total volume of Kazakhstan’s trade turnover amounted to $5.6 billion in January 2020 which indicates a decrease from $7.06 billion during the same period of 2020.

Kazakhstan’s export amounted to $3.2 billion during the reporting period of 2021 ($4.5 billion in the same period of 2020), whereas imports amounted to $2.4 billion ($2.5 billion in 2020).

During the reporting period, the main articles of Kazakhstan and Singapore's trade turnover were food products, agricultural products, as well as products of the chemical industry.
