Live cattle exports from Georgia have been growing, Trend reports referring to National Statistics Office (Geostat).
From January through February 2021, the exports grew by 31 percent compared to the same period in 2020 when exports amounted to $2.5 million while in 2021 - $3.2 million.
In two months of 2021 the main export markets of Georgian cattle were Azerbaijan and Iraq. The cattle worth $1.312 million were exported to Azerbaijan (in the same period of 2019 - $1.308 million), cattle worth $1.19 million to Iraq - (in 2019 - $1.308 million).
In 2020, live cattle exports grew by 24.2 percent compared to the same period in 2019 and amounted to $27.8 million. Some 12,104 tons of live cattle were exported, compared to 11,821 in 2019.
