Iran has saved $5.8 billion by banning and restricting the import of a number of goods in order to support domestic production from the beginning of the last Iranian year (March 20, 2020) to February 3, 2021, Trend reports citing the statistics of Ministry of Industry, Mine and Trade of Iran.
According to the statistics, in this regard, the import of 1,540 goods was banned and 722 types of goods were restricted.
“The imports of capital goods (include buildings, machinery, equipment, vehicles, and tools) in Iran increased from 13 percent to 14 percent in direction to meet production needs and manage imports,” the statistics said.
While the imports of consumer goods (clothing, food, and jewelry) decreased from 17.2 percent to 16 percent, the statistics said.
