Bushehr Province accounts for main part of Iran’s trade turnover

About one-sixth part of Iran's total exports and imports were made through the customs of the Bushehr Province (southern Iran) in the last Iranian year (from March 20, 2020 through March 20, 2021), Customs Inspector of Bushehr Province Behrouz Gharabeigi said, Trend reports citing Iran Customs Administration (IRICA).

The official noted that the volume of Iran's trade turnover was about 146 million tons in the last Iranian year. About 25 million tons of it were imported and exported through the customs of Bushehr Province. So, 24.5 million tons of goods were exported and 482,000 tons were imported. This is accounted for 22 percent of Iran’s total exports.

He added that the value of Iran's trade turnover amounted to $73 billion in the last Iranian year. Of this, $8.42 billion accounted for Bushehr Province. The share of Bushehr province in Iran's trade turnover was 11 percent.

Gharabeigi stressed that the main exported goods from the Bushehr Province were petrochemicals, gas condensate and minerals. These goods were mainly exported to China, the UAE, Turkey, Pakistan, Singapore, Qatar, India, Brazil, Afghanistan and Iraq.

The customs inspector noted that bananas, car tires, cloth, automotive spare parts, rice, spare parts for equipment, and so on were the main products imported to Iran through the customs of Bushehr Province. These products are imported from China, the UAE, India, the Philippines, Ecuador, Germany, Russia, Italy, South Korea and Spain.

Reportedly, Iran's total foreign trade turnover amounted to about 146 million tons worth $73 billion in the last Iranian year. During this period, Iran exported 112 million tons of goods worth $34.5 billion and imported 33.4 million tons worth $38.4 billion.
