There are various fields of cooperation between Iran and China that not only include economy but also cultural, scientific, industrial and academic relations, said former Iranian Ambassador to China Javad Mansouri, Trend reports via IRNA.
"The aim of signing the cooperation agreement between the two countries was aimed at maximum use of cooperation opportunities in all fields, without delays," said Mansouri.
He said the signing of the deal was due to mutual trust between the two Asian powers after four decades of friendly cooperation.
"This agreement does not create any obligations and it indicates the expansion of ties in the future. Any contract from this document should be approve and adjusted by the parliament in order to be operational," he said.
"Western media would tries to create certain obstacles for this agreement to work in full," said Mansouri.
"Even in the most ideal form of relations with China and other world powers, our nation and the government should be independent and use its domestic capacities without foreign reliance," he said.
