Iran's trade turnover with Qatar drops

Iran's trade turnover with Qatar decreased by 30 percent in the last Iranian year (from March 20, 2020, through March 20, 2021), compared to the preceding Iranian year (from March 21, 2019, through March 19, 2020), Trend reports citing the statistics of Trade Promotion Organization of Iran (TPOI).

According to the statistics, Iran's trade turnover with Qatar amounted to about 1.34 million tons worth about $175 million in the last Iranian year.

So, Iran exported 1.34 million tons of goods worth $167 million to Qatar over the last Iranian year. This is a decrease of 30 percent compared to the preceding Iranian year, the statistics said.

“Furthermore, Iran imported 892 tons of goods worth $7.9 million from Qatar during the last Iranian year. The imports decreased by 34 percent compared to the preceding Iranian year,” the statistics said.

While in the 12th month of last Iranian year (February 19 through March 20, 2021), Iran's trade turnover with Qatar amounted to 80,978 tons worth $8.72 million. Trade turnover decreased by 63 percent compared to the same month preceding Iranian year, according to the statistics.

“Iran exported 80,952 tons of goods worth $8.41 million to Qatar in the 12th month of the last Iranian year. This is a decrease of 64 percent compared to the same month preceding Iranian year,” the statistics said.

Also, Iran imported about 26 tons of goods worth $308,000 from Qatar in the 12th month of last Iranian year. Iran's imports from Qatar increased by 128 percent compared to the same month preceding Iranian year, the statistics said.
