TEHRAN, Iran, Apr.19
Trend:
The claims over the increase of National Housing Action Plan price to 60 million rials ($1,400) per square meters are false, said Deputy Minister of Road and Urban Development.
No construction contract has been signed with the 60 million rials ($1,400 ) with the contractor, said Mahmoud Mahmoudzadeh, Trend reports citing ILNA.
He went on to say that the set price is based on a value list and all rates are based on the country's technical and executive system so neither contractor nor people would face any loss.
"The basic rate for construction contracts are 28 million rials ($600) that were announced at the end of the previous Iranian year. The Plan and Budget Organization would announce the adjustment rate to this figure. The price of National Housing would not reach 60 million rials, all these claims are aiming to increase the prices in construction contracts," Mahmoudzadeh added.
"All projects have been reviewed to set the price based on their condition and the profit of these contracts is logical for builders. The efforts are to inaugurate national housing units each month during the first half of the current Iranian year (started March 21, 2021) before the end of this government ruling term," he noted.
The Transport and Urban Development Ministry is going to provide the land for the National Housing Action Plan and will also supervise the construction by enlisting private sector construction firms who will bid for contracts that entitle them to receive state loans and subsidized building materials.
