Azerbaijan will export 400 cars to Ukraine in the second half of 2021, First Deputy Chairman of the Board of Azermash OJSC Zaur Hajiyev told Trend.
"Since early 2021, two cars have been exported to Ukraine, which is currently undergoing certification," Hajiyev said.
He also touched upon the topic of expanding production.
According to the Azermash representative, the Russian GAZ Group and Azermash Park LLC have created a joint production of commercial and specialized vehicles in Azerbaijan.
“The agreement on the establishment of the joint venture was signed in the spring of 2018 in Baku, and the construction of the plant began in February 2019. GAZ Group will supply vehicle kits for the production of automotive vehicles based on GAZelle NEXT and GAZonov NEXT. Also, the expert of the group carried out training of personnel and provided the necessary documentation,” the company said.
The official opening of the plant for the production of the sedan cars of the ‘Khazar’ brand took place on March 29, 2018. The main founder of the enterprise is Azermash OJSC.
The plant is located on the territory of the Neftchala Industrial District in the southeast of Azerbaijan. All cars produced on it comply with Euro-5 standards.
