Kazakhstan suspends trade, economic co-op agreement with Croatia

BAKU, Azerbaijan, Apr. 23

Kazakhstan has refused an agreement on trade and economic cooperation with Croatia, Trend reports citing Kazakh media.

"The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan, in the manner prescribed by law, is notifying the government of Croatia about the intention of the Kazakhstan’s government not to become a party to the agreement between the governments of Kazakhstan and Croatia on trade and economic cooperation, concluded in Nur-Sultan on April 19, 2002," the resolution of Kazakh Cabinet of Ministers said.

Thus, the Resolution of Kazakhstan’s Government dated February 19, 2003 on approval of the mentioned above agreement was declared invalid.

The value of trade turnover between Kazakhstan and Croatia amounted to $62.8 million from January through February 2021, compared to $113.6 million during the same period of 2020.

During the reporting period, the main articles of Kazakhstan-Croatia trade turnover were food products, agricultural products, as well as products of the chemical industry.
