Buy/sell operations at Iran Mercantile Exchange revealed

BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 8

A total of617,000 tons of goods worth more than 84 trillion rials (about $2 billion) were sold at the Iran Mercantile Exchange (IME) in the last Iranian week (May 1 through May 6, 2021), Trend reports citing the IME’s official website.

However, 687,000 tons of goods worth more than 93.2 trillion rials (about $2.22 billion) were sold at the Iran Mercantile Exchange (IME) in the preceding Iranian week (April 24 through April 29, 2021),

According to the report, about 302,000 tons of goods worth about 48.8 trillion rials (about $1.16 billion) were sold in the industrial and mining products section of IME last week.

"So, 248,000 tons of steel, 50,000 tons of iron ore, 1,320 tons of copper, 2,470 tons of aluminum, 120 tons of molybdenum concentrate were sold in this section," the report said.

In addition, more than 313,000 tons of various oil and petrochemical products worth about 34.8 trillion rials (about $830 million) were sold in the oil and petrochemical products section of IME last Iranian week, the report said.

According to the report, 113,000 tons of vacuum bottom, 97,700 tons of bitumen, 41,500 tons of polymeric substances, 32,400 tons of chemicals, 33,000 tons of lube cut, 3,000 tons of base oil, 100 tons of argon, 1,250 tons of sulfur were sold in this section.

Furthermore, 1,290 tons of various products worth 321 billion rials (about $7.64 million) were sold in the submarket section of the exchange.
