Azerbaijan, Germany implementing joint agricultural projects

The German Society for International Cooperation (GIZ) is implementing projects on various areas in Azerbaijan, Shahin Huseynli, a specialist in geographic information systems, remote sensing, and sustainable land management at GIZ, told Trend.

According to Huseynli, the projects include private sector development and vocational education, economic and social integration of vulnerable groups, natural resource management and sustainable agricultural development.

He said that in 2021, within ‘Private sector development and technical vocational education’ project, in cooperation with the private companies, it’s planned to develop and implement two training courses in the field of logistics and transport.

"In the field of agriculture, along with other activities, this year in Kurdamir, projects will continue to be implemented with local farmers, in particular, Advanced Agricultural Practices," the specialist noted.

GIZ is currently supporting partners in the implementation of an e-services portal in Guba and Masalli districts, as well as Ganja city, added Huseynli.

The German Society for International Cooperation (GIZ) a state-owned company that implements projects in the field of international cooperation within German government’s instructions to promote sustainable development.
