The German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ) is implementing a project in Azerbaijan to improve the use of data in the field of agriculture, Country Director of the GIZ office in Azerbaijan Karin Horhan told Trend.

“The introduction of this system will simplify the access of farmers to the information on yields and innovations in agriculture,” the country director added.

"Moreover, GIZ supports its Azerbaijani partners, namely, small and medium-sized enterprises in the field of tourism and transport, by rendering the digital learning opportunities within the vocational training," Horhan said.

“GIZ gives consultations to its partners on the development of special approaches to expand opportunities for getting income (employment and creation of companies),” the country director said. "We support the work of agencies and other structures in the field of agriculture."

“Moreover, we support pilot digitalization of governance at the level of districts,” Horhan said. “Citizens must be able to easily and transparently receive information about district services on the appropriate website in the future.”

“The process of rendering offline services will also be simplified,” the country director said. “At the same time, for example, the number of required documents will be reduced."

The German Agency for International Cooperation is a state-owned company that implements the projects in the field of international cooperation upon the German government’s instructions to promote the sustainable development.
