Azerbaijan’s MKT Istehsalat Kommersiya LLC, the largest cotton production and processing company in the country, exports its products to Turkey, Iran, Russia and the CIS countries, Rufat Ismayilov, a board member of the company, told Trend on June 1.
According to Ismayilov, the main activity of the company is the cultivation, supply and subsequent processing of cotton in 15 out of 20 cotton-growing regions of Azerbaijan.
"MKT Istehsalat Kommersiya LLC produces yarn, cottonseed oil, cotton seeds mainly from raw cotton. The most modern equipment made in Turkey, US, Uzbekistan, Switzerland and Ukraine is installed at the company’s plants," he said.
Along with cotton processing enterprises, reception centers and innovative branches located in the regions, the company has a yarn factory in Baku, and a cottonseed oil factory in Shirvan city, added the board member.
From January through March 2021, the largest exporter of Azerbaijan non-oil products among private companies was MKT Istehsalat Kommersiya LLC, which carried out export operations worth $40 million (against $25.1 million in the same period of last year).
