Iranian official talks industry, manufacturing sectors in Gilan Province

The number of industrial and manufacturing enterprises put into operation in the Gilan Province (northern Iran) increased by 30 percent over the last Iranian year (from March 20, 2020 through March 20, 2021), compared to the preceding Iranian year (from March 21, 2019 through March 19, 2020), Chairman of Industry, Mine, and Trade Organization of Gilan Province Farhad Dalghpoush said, Trend reports citing the organization.

The chairman emphasized that 215 enterprises were put into operation in Gilan Province in the last Iranian year. While in the preceding Iranian year, 165 enterprises had been put into operation in the province.

He added that a total of 2,540 people were employed in the province as result of the operation of these enterprises during last Iranian year. The employment increased by 19.9 percent, compared to the preceding Iranian year. So, 2,1200 people had been employed in the province in the preceding Iranian year.

According to Dalghpoush, the activities of 65 enterprises were restored in the province within last Iranian year. While in the preceding Iranian year, the activities of 58 enterprises had been restored in the province, which means a 20-percent increase.

“In addition, 16 trillion rials (about $380 million) worth of loans were issued to enterprises in the industry and manufacturing sectors in the last Iranian year,” he said.

The chairman noted that also, 10 mines in the province, of which activities were suspended last Iranian year were put up for auction and resumed. It is planned to restore the activities of 19 mines through auction in the current Iranian year (from March 21, 2021 through March 20, 2022).
