The exports of Iran increased by 48 percent in terms of value and 17 percent in terms of volume in the 2nd month of the current Iranian year (April 21 through May 21, 2021), compared to the same month last Iranian year, Director General of Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration (IRICA), Mehdi Mirashrafi said, Trend reports citing the administration.
According to Mirashrafi, Iran exported 16.9 million tons of goods worth $6.3 billion during the reporting month.
Mirashrafi added that the exported goods were mainly gasoline, polyethylene, methanol, iron and steel ingots and steel products.
The director-general noted that Iran exported 4.6 million tons of goods worth $2 billion to China in the second month. Iran's exports to China increased by 74 percent in terms of value and 17 percent in terms of volume, compared to the same month last Iranian year.
"In addition, Iran exported 3.1 million tons of goods worth $953 million to Iraq within the mentioned month. Iran's exports to Iraq decreased by 13 percent in terms of value and 18 percent in terms of volume, compared to the same month last Iranian year," he said.
Mirashrafi stressed that Iran exported 2.4 million tons of goods worth $849 million to the UAE in the 2nd month. This is an increase of 25 percent in terms of value and 9 percent in terms of volume, compared to the same month last Iranian year.
"Iran's exports to Turkey amounted to 384,000 tons worth $388 million in the second month, which is an increase of 172 percent in terms of value and 14 percent in terms of volume compared to the same month last Iranian year," he added.
The director-general emphasized that moreover, Iran exported 911,000 tons of goods worth $365 million over the second month. Iran's exports to Afghanistan increased by 8 percent in terms of value and decreased by 14 percent in terms of volume, compared to the same month last Iranian year.
In general, Iran exported 11.5 million tons of goods worth $4.6 billion to the five countries in the 2nd month of the current Iranian year, Mirashrafi said.
According to him, Iran's trade turnover with the world countries amounted to 22.8 million tons worth $12.8 billion in the second month. This is an increase of 38 percent in terms of value and 6.6 percent in terms of volume, compared to the same month last Iranian year.
