BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 29

Tamilla Mammadova – Trend:

In the near future, Georgia will develop a new project with producers, which will increase access to credit resources for local small entrepreneurs and small farmers, said Minister of Agriculture Levan Davitashvili, Trend reports via Georgian media.

The minister visited the Magali enterprise located in the municipality of Karelia, where he examined the farm.

According to the ministry, Magali's modern greenhouse facility expects to harvest 500 tons of broccoli and cauliflower in 80 greenhouses.

“The export potential in the country is huge, and we believe that there are opportunities for cooperation in this direction. Our goal is to ensure that as many local residents as possible are involved in the production chain with a guaranteed procurement model. The main task is to attract more small farmers to aid programs and further increase the country's export opportunities,” Davitashvili said.

Magali is the beneficiary of a preferential agricultural loan, the loan amount is 1.5 million lari ($477.8 million).

The processing of products is carried out at the company "Glenber", established with the assistance of the state.

The final product is exported to the United States. The greenhouse sector employs 150 people.
