Iran shares data on minerals extraction from mines of Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari Province

BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 29

Iran is currently extracting 10 types of minerals from the mines of Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari Province (western Iran), Deputy Chairman of Industry, Mine and Trade Organization of the province said Mehrdad Ghasemi, Trend reports citing the organization.

According to him, these minerals are bauxite, argillite, marble, stone carcass, halite, lime material, gypsum, silicon, sea salt, cement raw materials, mixed substances and alluvium.

Ghasemi added that 1.1 million tons of minerals have been extracted from the province's mines since the beginning of the current Iranian year (March 21, 2021) to date. This is an increase of 25 percent compared to the same period last Iranian year.

The deputy said that there are currently 155 mines in the province, and more than 1,000 workers work in these mines.

“More than 6 million tons of minerals are extracted annually from the mines of Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari Province,” he noted.
