Buy & sell operations at Iran Mercantile Exchange soar

A total of 896,000 tons of goods worth more than 70.5 trillion rials (about $1.68 billion) were sold at the Iran Mercantile Exchange (IME) in the last Iranian week (July 24 through July 29, 2021), Trend reports citing the IME’s official website.

This is an increase of 150 percent in terms of value and 122 percent in terms of volume, compared to the preceding Iranian week (July 17 through July 22, 2021).

So, 403,000 tons of goods worth more than 28.6 trillion rials (about $682 million) were sold at the Iran Mercantile Exchange (IME) in the preceding Iranian week.

According to the report, about 612,000 tons of goods worth about 30.5 trillion rials (about $727 million) were sold in the industrial and mining products section of IME last week.

"About 59,600 tons of steel, 6,030 tons of copper, 5,450 tons of aluminum, 120 tons of molybdenum concentrate, 30 tons of precious metal concentrate, 540 tons of zinc ingots, 507,000 tons of cement, 1 kg of gold bars, 30,000 tons of sponge iron and 30,000 tons of iron ore were sold in this section," the report said.

In addition, more than 282,000 tons of various oil and petrochemical products worth about 39.7 trillion rials (about $945 million) were sold in the oil and petrochemical products section of IME last Iranian week, the report said.

According to the report, 58,100 tons of vacuum bottom, 56,600 tons of bitumen, 74,700 tons of polymeric substances, 36,200 tons of chemicals, 47,000 tons of lube cut, 4,980 tons of base oil, 20 tons of argon, 2,220 tons of sulfur and 210 tons of facades were sold in this section.

Furthermore, 1,550 tons of various products worth 341 billion rials (about $8.12 million) were sold in the submarket section of the exchange.
