Buy & sell operations at Iran Mercantile Exchange growing

A total of 1.03 million tons of goods worth more than 141 trillion rials (about $3.34 billion) were sold at the Iran Mercantile Exchange (IME) in the last Iranian week (July 31 through August 5, 2021), Trend reports citing the IME’s official website.

This is an increase of 99 percent in terms of value and 14 percent in terms of volume, compared to the preceding Iranian week (July 24 through July 29, 2021).

So, 896,000 tons of goods worth more than 70.5 trillion rials (about $1.68 billion) were sold at the Iran Mercantile Exchange (IME) in the preceding Iranian week.

According to the report, about 604,000 tons of goods worth about 88 trillion rials (about $2.09 billion) were sold in the industrial and mining products section of IME last week.

"About 370,000 tons of steel, 5,200 tons of copper, 7,750 tons of aluminum, 120 tons of molybdenum concentrate, 30 tons of precious metal concentrate, 85,000 tons of zinc soil, 210 tons of zinc ingots, 105,000 tons of cement, 24 kg of gold bars, 5,500 tons of sponge iron and 25,000 tons of iron ore were sold in this section," the report said.

In addition, more than 390,000 tons of various oil and petrochemical products worth about 49 trillion rials (about $1.16 billion) were sold in the oil and petrochemical products section of IME last Iranian week, the report said.

According to the report, 100,000 tons of vacuum bottom, 113,000 tons of bitumen, 78,200 tons of polymeric substances, 33,700 tons of chemicals, 55,000 tons of lube cut, 2,330 tons of base oil, 50 tons of argon, 5,100 tons of sulfur and 290 tons of facades were sold in this section.

Furthermore, 32,400 tons of various products worth 3.64 trillion rials (about $86.6 million) were sold in the submarket section of the exchange.
