Entrepreneurs from Turkey, the UAE and other countries purchased calcined and total petroleum coke produced at the Turkmenbashi Complex of Oil Refineries during trading on the State Commodity and Raw Materials Exchange of Turkmenistan last week, Trend reports with reference to Turkmenistan’s State News Agency.
Entrepreneurs from Russia, Turkey, Kyrgyzstan, and Uzbekistan purchased dyed terry products, float sheet glass and cotton yarn also in foreign currency.
The total amount of the mentioned transactions on the exchange exceeded $5.4 million.
Last week, transactions were also made on the exchange in the national currency. Thus, entrepreneurs from the UK, the UAE, and Kazakhstan purchased medical supplies and cotton yarn for a total amount of more than 35.8 million manat ($10.3 million).
Local businessmen bought for the domestic market, substandard polypropylene Turkmen Aglomerate film and packaging film for a total amount of 2.9 million manat (more than $850,132).
In general, 35 transactions were registered on the exchange during the specified period.
The State Commodity and Raw Materials Exchange of Turkmenistan was established on July 29, 1994. It is the most important body of state regulation of export-import operations.
