Iran shares data on exports to Arab countries

The value of Iran's exports to neighboring Arab countries amounted to about $4.5 billion during the first four months of the current Iranian year (from March 21 through July 22, 2021), Director General of Trade Promotion Organization of Iran’s (TPOI) Arabic-African Affairs Office Farzad Piltan told ILNA, Trend reports.

The director-general noted that Iran exported about $2.81 billion worth of goods to Iraq in the 4 months. This is an increase of 43 percent, compared to the same period last Iranian year.

Piltan added that Iran also exported $1.62 billion worth of goods to the UAE within the mentioned period, which is an increase of 33 percent, compared to the same period last Iranian year.

“In addition, Iran exported $177 million worth of goods to Oman over the four months. The exports increased by 50 percent, compared to the same period last Iranian year,” he said.

According to him, in four months, Iran exported $66 million worth of goods to Syria, which is 36 percent more than in the same period last Iranian year.

Piltan emphasized that Iran exported $45 million worth of goods to Qatar during the reporting period. This is an increase of 24 percent compared to the same period last Iranian year.

“At the same time, Iran exported $43 million worth of to Kuwait, as well as, $2 million worth of goods to Bahrain within the four months, which are decrease of 5 percent and 2 percent, respectively, compared to the same period last Iranian year,” he added.

The director-general stressed Iran exported about $13.3 billion worth of goods to 20 main countries over the first four months of the current Iranian year. These countries accounted for 85.7 percent of Iran's total exports in terms of value.

Moreover, the value of Iran's exports to 15 countries around the country amounted to $7.22 billion. This is about 50.4 percent of Iran's total exports.

As reported, Iran exported 38.3 million tons of goods worth $14.3 billion during the first four months of the current Iranian year (from March 21 through July 22, 2021). The exports increased by 65 percent in terms of value and 27 percent in terms of volume compared to the same period last Iranian year.
