Iran intends to increase non-oil exports

The potential of the provinces’ manufacturing enterprises will be fully activated in order to increase Iran's exports by $5 billion in the second half of the current Iranian year (from September 23, 2021 through March 20, 2022), Deputy Minister of Industry, Mine and Trade of Iran, and Head of the Trade Promotion Organization of Iran (TPOI) Hamid Zadboum said, Trend reports citing the organization’s website.

The deputy minister said that Iran plans to export a total of about $45.2 billion worth of goods in the current Iranian year (from March 21, 2021 through March 20, 2022). Of this, $39.7 billion will be exported to 21 countries and about $5.47 billion to other countries.

Zadboum added that Pakistan, Russia, Turkey, the UAE and so on are among the 21 countries. Other countries include Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, Singapore, Uzbekistan, Germany, Vietnam, Tajikistan, Venezuela, South Africa and etc.

As reported, Iran's trade turnover with other countries amounted to 59.3 million tons worth $34.2 billion during the first five months of the current Iranian year (from March 21 through August 22, 2021). Iran's trade turnover increased by 38 percent in terms of value and 14 percent in terms of volume compared to the same period last Iranian year.

So, Iran exported 45.5 million tons of goods worth $17.6 billion over the reporting period. Compared to the same period last Iranian year, exports increased by 63 percent in terms of value and 20 percent in terms of volume.

Within the 5 months, Iran imported 13.8 million tons of goods worth $16.6 billion, which is an increase of 21 percent in terms of value and decreased by 5 percent in terms of volume.
