Iran boost exports to Lebanon

BAKU, Azerbaijan, Sept. 7

Iran's exports to Lebanon increased by 226 percent in terms of value during the first five months of the current Iranian year (March 21 through August 22, 2021), compared to the same period last Iranian year, Director General of Trade Promotion Organization of Iran’s (TPOI) Arabic-African Affairs Office Farzad Piltan told ILNA, Trend reports.

Piltan said that the value of Iran's exports to Lebanon for the mentioned period amounted to about $12.7 million.

The director general added that in the five months, Iran exported mainly iron and steel shafts, glass materials, pistachios, fabrics, tomatoes, polystyrene, and so on to Lebanon.

In total, the value of trade turnover between Iran and Lebanon for five months amounted to about $20 million, according to him.

“Meanwhile in the last Iranian year (March 20, 2020, through March 20, 2021), the trade turnover between Iran and Lebanon amounted to $33.8 million, of which $21 million was accounted for Iran's exports and $12.8 million for imports,” Piltan noted.
