The iron ore concentrate production of ten major Iranian companies increased by 4 percent during the first five months of the current Iranian year (from March 21 through August 22, 2021) compared to the same period last Iranian year, Trend reports citing Iranian Mines and Mining Industries Development and Renovation Organization (IMIDRO).
Over the 5 months, these companies produced 21.2 million tons of iron ore concentrate. The figure stood at 20.3 million tons in the same period last Iranian year, according to the report.
"So, the Golgohar Mining and Industrial Company produced 7.2 million tons of iron ore concentrate, Chadormalu Mining and Industrial Company – 5.12 million tons, Middle East Mines Industries Development Holding Company (MIDHCO) – 2.25 million tons, Gohar Zamin Iron Ore Company – 1.96 million tons, Central Iron Ore Company of Iran – 1.64 million tons," the report said.
In addition, Sanabad Inclusive Development Industrial and Mining Company produced 892,000 tons of iron ore concentrate, Opal Parsian Sangan Industrial and Mining Company – 932,000, Sabanour Mining and Industrial Development Company – 492,000 tons, Jalalabad Iron Ore Complex – 206,000 tons, and Sangan Mining Industries Company – 456,000 tons within the mentioned period.
According to the report, at the same time, these companies transported 6.78 million tons of iron ore concentrate to the relevant manufacturing companies in the 5 months. This is a decrease of 8 percent compared to the same period last Iranian year. So, this figure amounted to 7.35 million tons in the same period last Iranian year.
“The iron ore concentrate production of these companies amounted to 4.15 million tons in the 5th month of the current Iranian year (July 23 through August 22, 2021), which is a decrease of 4 percent compared to the same month last Iranian year. Meanwhile, in the same month last Iranian year, 4.32 million tons of iron ore concentrate were produced,” the report said.
Furthermore, the 10 companies produced 544,000 tons of iron ore pellets within the five months. This is 1-percent increase compared to the same period last Iranian year. Thus, 538,000 tons of iron ore pellets were produced in the same period last Iranian year, according to the report.
These companies transported 1.16 million tons of iron ore concentrate to the relevant manufacturing companies in the 5 months, which is an increase of 49 percent compared to the same period last Iranian year. So, this figure amounted to 780,000 tons in the same period last Iranian year.
Meanwhile, in the fifth month of the current Iranian year, iron ore pellets production of the mentioned companies amounted to 166,000 tons. This is an increase of 23 percent compared to the same month last Iranian year. This figure stood at 135,000 tons in the same period last Iranian year.
